Start Your Project"Epe sits apart from the city's noise — and this interior design takes its cue from that distance, building a bedroom and bathroom around the idea of earned rest."
Epe has long offered something Lagos Island and the mainland cannot: space, quiet, and a relationship with water that changes the character of every morning. For this interior design commission, MAF Design Projects worked within a bedroom and adjoining toilet to create a suite that honours that slower, more considered pace of life — a space that feels genuinely removed from the city's demands.
The bedroom palette is restrained: off-white walls, warm timber joinery, and a soft textile layering that adds depth without visual noise. The bed is centred on the longest wall, with custom bedside units that keep the floor plane clear and the room uncluttered. A full-height wardrobe wall is dressed in matte-finish cladding with concealed handles, giving the room a seamless backdrop that makes the space feel larger than its dimensions suggest.
The toilet and bathroom zone is finished in large-format stone-effect tiles, with a wall-hung vanity and vessel basin that keep the floor clean and the visual weight light. Warm-white lighting throughout the suite — both overhead and accent — ensures the space transitions naturally from a bright, purposeful morning to a warm, restorative evening.
